Rosellen Gellar is known as the mother of Sarah Michelle Gellar, the television actress who starred as the female lead in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Rosellen had essentially supported the development of Sarah when she divorced her husband, Arthur Gellar, when Sarah was only seven years old. With her daughter and no other husband to take care of, Rosellen raised Sarah as a single mother in New York City. She developed her interest and education with hopes of starting an early career. She remained supportive of Sarah even when she explored her interest in acting; she accompanied her to many auditions and simultaneously aided her in fulfilling all the requirements of her acting career as a young professional.
