Rickard Stark, the head of House Stark, and his son Brandon Stark represented two of the most influential leaders in Westeros before Robert’s Rebellion. As Warden of the North, Rickard Stark did much to live up to the ideals of honor and loyalty that House Stark always espoused. However, tragedy also befell Rickard Stark when his younger daughter, Lyanna Stark, was kidnapped by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Lyanna’s elder brother, Brandon Stark, went to King’s Landing to protest the actions of the Targaryens but was arrested by King Aerys II.
