Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) gets a horrifying letter stating that their crime was observed a year after they drive over a fisherman and left his body float away. While Barry (Ryan Phillippe) has been ran over by a man with a meat grasp, Julie tries to convince the person she thinks sent the letter to let her live. Meanwhile, four friends get back together. As the murderer with the hook keeps pursuing Julie, Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar), and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.), the slaughter only becomes worst.It had received mixed reviews but had become a respectable commercial success, yielding $125.3 million worldwide off of an $17 million budget. It could still stay in top spot at the U.S. box office for three successive weeks.
