On March 15, 1953, American actress Frances Hardman Conroy was born. Her role as Ruth Fisher in the television series Six Feet Under (2001–2005) earned her four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Golden Globe. Conroy got her first Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress on Television and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her role as the older Moira O’Hara in season one of the television anthology series American Horror Story.
