The Dance of the Dragons was a vicious civil war in the house of Targaryen as they concerned themselves with a disputed succession to the Iron Throne: it was one of the bloodiest conflicts in Westerosi history. In this war, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, a daughter of King Viserys I and named heir of King Viserys I, came into conflict with her half-brother Aegon II, who also declared himself king after Visery’s death. Both camps- the “Blacks,” favoring Rhaenyra, and the “Greens,” favoring Aegon- had huge, potent dragons and formidable armies who caused havoc throughout the realm.
